BELIEF SYSTEMS - FOUNDATION AND SALVATION
The purpose of this chart is to point out where the different belief systems diverge both in their foundation and in their salvation so one may be able to find the place of common ground (which may not even be the universe's physical existence as with some New Age beliefs.) God's Word can then be used with wisdom as the power of God is in the gospel message, not using the Bible as a debating tool with someone who doesn't consider it credible. Rom 1:16

For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.  Rom 1:20

Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 2 Tim 2:2-4

The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. I Cor 2:14

Expanded Chart

Note: The god of Islam, Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons is a different god than the God of the Bible. The reason they worship the wrong God isn't because they don't accept that the creation requires a creator, but rather because they are trusting men who wrote books far after the Bible to tell them what parts of the Bible to ignore and what to add to the Bible.
THE UNIVERSE reveals invisible God. Rom 1:20 To those blinded by this truth, as Jesus used, analogies and the sharing of both the findings of and limitations of science can be effective.

There are two main differences between Christianity and other religions that believe in a god.  1. Jesus is without a grave. He overcame death. 2. All other religious beliefs consist of an unworthy flawed man attempting to be worthy enough of a perfect God.  The God of the Bible reached down to an unworthy flawed mankind and offers salvation through Jesus Christ.

Christians believe that God reveals Himself through the Bible (1450BC - 95AD).

Jehovah Witnesses believe in a creator god.  However, they believe that the Bible became flawed and it was translated into the New World Version which has significant changes including changes verses which speak of the Deity of Christ. The major flaw in their belief system is that only one of the small group of translators had even a limited knowledge of ancient languages. Their trust for eternity is in the hands of a man whose name virtually all are unfamiliar with. The hierarchy in the church determines doctrine which has changed over time (1870-present). Their leader, Charles Taz Russell made false prophesies. God is different to them than the God of the Bible as they don't believe that Jesus or the Holy Spirit are God, only Jehovah.

Mormons believe believe in a creator god. However, they believe that the Bible became flawed. They believe that the teachings of Joseph Smith (1830-1844) revealed truth that corrects Bible flaws and adds to it with several books.  The major flaws in their foundation are that Smith's views changed over time and even though written recently by Bible standards, archaeological evidence of historical events noted in Smith's writings is absent. Mormons agree that Smith had up to 40 wives. God is different to them than the God of the Bible as they believe that God was once a man and that we can be the same as God if we follow Mormonism and live good lives.

Muslims believe believe in a creator god. They believe that Mohammad was inspired by the Angel Gabriel to write the Quran (609-632AD.) They don't believe in the God of the Bible but rather the god of the Quran, Allah. Muhammad was a warrior, a murderer and had sex with a 9 year old girl.

Hindu texts date from 1500BC to 200AD. There is one supreme god who made other god's to help. God lives within everyone and it is one's quest to find the god within. God is both in everything and beyond it. The pathway to heaven can be reached in different ways, devotion to one of millions of gods, enlightenment, or works to appease the gods.  This frees one from the cycle of reincarnation.

Buddhist texts date from 200BC to 200AD. There are many forms of Buddhism. It is seen by some as not a religion but a way of life. They see sin as simply an intellectual mistake. The pathway to heaven (Nirvana) is enlightenment and Karma.  Works in following the 8 fold path helps one to hopefully not have to reincarnate but reach an exalted god-like state. The stay in heaven only lasts as long as one's karma lasts.. Doing good produces good karma which exalts and doing bad produces bad karma which requires suffering to attone. Animals can be helped to reincarnate as humans.
